2 months and a half left...damn.

i feel like it was yesterday when i got here. it was on january 19. 6 months already. although i'm sad that i'm leaving very soon, i am excited. can't wait to see my sister again, my cousins, and my friends. my house, my little purple bedroom. paris! can't wait to go back there. i wonder if things have changed... it's like in those sci-fi movies when a guy goes in an other dimension then comes back to the real world and finds everything changed. ingrid betancourt is free. that's the only main big change that comes to my mind now. yeah, i don't think that so many things changed during my absence. i'm probably the one who has changed the most. even when i look at pictures taken before i got here, i can tell there is a difference. but you all will know about it in the last post of this blog, in october. stay tuned ;p

ok, pour ceux qui le ne savent pas, ici les gens font une file lorsqu'ils attendent le bus. donc ce n'est pas rare de voir une longue ligne de gens aux arrets de bus. quand je suis arrivee, cette preuve de civisme m'a choque, lol. bref. je pensais que ca s'arretait la... et bien non! tout a l'heure j'etais a la gare du metro cartier, et j'attendais le bus sur le banc. le bus allait arriver, et des gens arrivaient de la gare. ils se mettaient en ligne. au bout de quelques minutes je me suis dit qu'il etait temps moi aussi que je rejoigne la file, si je voulais avoir une place assise (yeah i'm lazy you know me). j'y vais en derniere position. et la, les deux personnes devant moi se retournent et me disent "ben passe don', t'etais la ben avant nous!" wow. ils m'ont laisse passer avant eux.

8 girls and 3 guys at sand banks beach, ontario.

we camped there. it was such a nice weekend, we all felt like we were on vacation. the beach was perfect. clear water, soft sand and blue sky. camping was fun, the reason why we were all wearing hoodies was to protect ourselves from the mosquito bites! the shades... i have no clue. we were in a gangsta mood i guess, lol. that's probably why the police came to our spot to ask us to shut up... haha. anyway, i made it through the night although i was kinda scared (i'm such a city girl). i woke jimmy up at least 3 times (poor him) just so that he could go kick these raccoons out of our spot!
i saw two falling stars at night, i had never seen such a beautiful and clear sky at night, we could see all the stars. yes, i made two wishes. hope they'll come true...

i am stuck here, i cant go to my bro's wedding... really breaks my heart. but i chose to stay here longer so i have no choice. i will be back in paris in october. i can't wait to see my friends and my sister that i love so much. i guess it's right what they say, you don't know what you got til it's gone. well, in this case i am gone. i realize how lucky i am to live in paris (yeah so i don't live in paris city but you know what i mean), and how cool are all my friends and family. i wish i could go back now. but i still have things to live here first.

i moved back in Laval with my family here: my cousins and their parents. it is very quiet here, i like it. i sleep in the basement and i eat very good lao food everyday. i go to work by bus plus metro. i don't really miss my place from downtown. it was crappy. i know, i'm the one who made it look crappy. but yeah... so i do miss being next to everything though. but L.A is nice too! we been to that Carrefour Mall and then ate goooood cakes at Rockaberry. you definitely need a car to enjoy Laval more. Jimmy took us to a long ride again, that was cool. we watched the storm and then went for some ice cream. oh, that old grandpa was sooo nice!

tomorrow we all go camping 4 hours from here. we're lucky the weather is very very nice and warm. omg, i need to work more on that beach body. last time i was at jacob trying on some dress (that i couldnt buy cause my card has been refused, uh oh), and i realized that all that good junk food is no good for my body. so, no more!

ok i have to go and i don't even know who i'm talking to, i think no one reads my blog.

it is hot in montreal. like real hot. humid. sunny. i tanned :)
i sat outside second cup but went inside to enjoy the AC.
what an interesting week i just had. many arrived on friday. we were late. after waiting 15 minuts i realised that she was already here, waiting. i jumped in her arms as soon as i saw her. man... i really did miss her. finally, i could reconnect with my closest friend. we took a bus, then an other one. it was hot. then we came at my place, freshed up a little bit to go to the sex in the city party! many was jet-lagged but still looked hot in her benetton purple dress. 15 girls in a hotel suite with alcohol and sex in the city crazyness. the movie sucked though. it was so cheesy and so different from the series. argh the worst part was about the password: "l, o, v, e!". b!tch please. but i have to admit i really like the miranda and steeve on the brooklyn bridge scene. i was like "awww". anyways, the day after was party again. peer pressure. yeah... electro.

looks like theres no club in mtl that plays different kinds of music during the same night. its either electro only, rock only, 40 year old white dudes trying to get girls's music only, lounge music only, hip-hop only (which is the less worse to me) or dance-hall only. ergh. but still, it was fun. you know, after a few shots, lol. long weekend. it's been a week since many came and we already took like 600 pictures, crazy. she's been sleeping on my floor. long laughs at night are the best. omg, feels good to be with her again. we laughed for 20 minuts the other night, just thinking about old school days. m.i.a concert was fun... except the fact that the crowd really sucked and that holy fucks music was horrible to my ears and soul. still got love for m.i.a though, especially since i heard her sing "20 dollars". music.

i l.o.v.e music. many brought good music with her. we've been listening to our favorites tunes the all time. it's fun. god i miss va. anyways... i know i will go soon. but yeah so i got some kind of a non official promotion to the position of webmaster. still doing the marketing thing though. im so glad i found this internship. i get to develop my skills on photoshop and joomla. my resumes going to be nice. hopefully it will be the key to my dream. i want to do what i do now but in the music bness. yeah dont get me wrong, i love food. you know it if you know me well. but hey, i dont love food that much to work in the industry. i love music that much. i'm so excited. i know what i want to do later. you know, they've been asking us the same question since middle school. well now i know. and it feels good.

i've been recently discovering that i have changed. this whole experience changed me a lot. i'm not sure in what way, i think i'm more mature i guess. but cece will always be cece. you know. i still have a few issues though... money saving is hard. and being able to forget or at least ignore some annoying things/people or annoying things in some people is hard. like when there is stg annoying in someone, i just be like "fuck that shit". but yeah... i guess i have to learn to compromise more. idk. i know i am laid-back and tend to expect the same reaction with other ppl.

i learned a lot about me lately. i love being alone man. on my own. just being here on my own with music in my ears feels great. we had the best wk ever. saturday we walked from the jardin botannique to downtown. the long sherbrooke street... that was long, and it was soooo hot. couldn't resist to have a water fight!

its sunny and i just got back into jogging again, which is pretty cool. annie and i go run on sunday mornings at the mont royal. then we just sit in the grass, enjoying the music and watching people. we saw a lot of happy families lately... and believe it or not, i start seeing myself as a mom. not now though. but before 30. we saw a dad and his babygirl today, he seemed so happy and the girl was so cute. it makes me think: thats what life is about. giving life, having someone to love your whole life. i know, i'm young. and i have to find the father first, right? lol. mtl is nice, i really like it. everytime i walk down in my neighborhood i feel so lucky living here. can't wait for my girl many to be here, she's coming next friday! man... annie and i are partying hard lately. but last night proved us that we are still human and we do need some rest. we were at the gay village and for annie's friend bday, we were supposed to go to this club but didnt feel like going. we were tired. we have to rest before next weekend. the 2 upcoming weeks are going to be crazy: sex and the city party, mia concert, pool party, lounges and stuff... gotta enjoy the summer in the city as much as possible.

it's nice and warm in montreal. i can finally wear my urban outfitters ballerinas.
uh oh, the nice weathers gonna make me buy more clothes. did i tell you the good news?
my big sisters here, she just got here today and she's actually sleeping right now.
we're now chilling at my cousins place, just had some good food as usual (my uncle and aunt are the best lao cooks). tomorrow is going to be nice: shopping, blue sky, and food...yeah we are food lovers. then i guess my sis and i will go back to my place. man, i'm so happy right now. much happier than a few weeks ago, when i was all emo about my money problems, the cold weather, and being lost. yeah... i got paid on friday, so that's the main reason why i'm happy. money does bring happiness. i got to talk to my sister from another mother: many. damn i miss her. and drey, and mei, and tonie. but we all going to see each other soon, when i'll be back to paris. i used to be all confused about what i will do after my internship, but now i'm just enjoying this whole experience. carpe diem. but i still have lots of projects in mind. i love my lilcousin eli, she reminds me of my younger me. anyway, i'm saying this cause we're watching the hockey game right now and she's getting all excited cause the canadian team is winning.
so yeah... i'm more happy with myself too. i guess i'm kinda proud of what i achieved... and who i am today. but i'm still working on me, like i want to improve myself. i guess it's because i am around positive people. as i just read in another blog, positive people = good things. i no longer want to be around insecure people who put you down 'cause they're not happy with who they are. i love my family. i love the fact that i have relatives everywhere, i get to meet people from everywhere and i have to admit, our familys cool people. oh saying this reminds me that i miss miemo so much.

Boston, MA.

Les aventures continuent

Je suis partie a Boston, MA. C'est une ville tres jolie, avec une architecture qui lui est bien propre. Des petits immeubles en brique rouge lui donnent un charme fou! Bien sur comme toute grande ville Americaine, des grands buildings lui donnent l'allure d'une ville dynamique.
Pour etre honnete, cette ville sent l'argent! On peut voir par la qualite des infrastructures et la proprete des rues que les habitants de Boston on un certain niveau de vie. On trouve des grands magasins dans le dowtown, et des hotels tous plus luxueux que les autres.
Les gens sont tres sympatiques, et n'oublions pas que le MA s'intitule "the spirit of america", grace a toutes les universites prestigieuses qui y sont. Donc on ressent vraiment cette atmosphere etudiante, les gens sont jeunes et dynamiques, prets a conquerir le monde!
On a eu la chance d'aller cuire nos produits au Harvard club. On est parti prendre un cocktail en haut de la prudential tower pour profiter d'une belle vue sur la ville. On a mange dans un hotel boutique design, et on a pu manger des coquilles st jacques offertes par le chef. Oui, la je vous donne juste la liste de ce qu'on a fait la bas. Le salon s'est tres bien passe.

Ensuite, je suis partie sur Long Island. C'est une tres belle route a faire, et le soleil etait avec nous pendant tout le trajet. Nous avons donc contourne NYC et j'ai pu voir une superbe vue de la big apple depuis le Washinton bridge. Il faisait si bon a Long Island, les gens etaient en t shirts, ca nous a fait beaucoup de bien de profiter du soleil. Nous etions la bas pour un autre salon qui avait lieu sur le campus d'une universite. J'ai rencontre des gens tres interessants et tres laid-back. C'est fou la difference avec la France. Tout est beaucoup plus "relax".

Sur le chemin du retour, le soleil etait aussi present. Et bonne surprise en arrivant a Montreal: toute la neige est partie! Summer's gonna be nice.

Deux mois déjà que je suis ici.

Quelle aventure! Je suis allée à Toronto 4 jours pour y faire un salon. Wow.
J’ai découvert un autre aspect de mon job qui me plaît réellement, le contact avec les gens, la logistique, le travail en équipe… i love it ;)
Sinon Toronto c’est… comment dire… gris. Une ville froide, remplie de buildings et de chantiers, pas très accueillant. La culture y est beaucoup plus américaine qu’à Montréal. Mais bon, j’ai eu la chance d’aller en haut de la CN tower et de contempler la ville de haut, c’était super beau car c’était la nuit et on pouvait voir toutes les lumières! On a mangé dans un resto Italien le soir de notre arrivée, c’était super bon! Puis le lendemain… un Japonais, un peu glauque (pas de chauffage, mal éclairé… et UNE heure d’attente pour 8 malheureux maki O_o?), enfin bon tout s’est bien passé et dans la bonne humeur ;)

Je suis rentrée sur Montréal durant la nuit de mardi. Et deux jours après on m’annonçait que je partais pour NYC le samedi suivant!
Vous imaginez comme j’étais heureuse! Donc me revoilà sur la route deux jours après, direction the big apple. Wow. Wow, wow, wow!
4 jours supers intenses! J’étais déjà venue en 2004 mais New York, c’est la même magie à chaque fois!

(Surtout pour moi petite banlieusarde que je suis, lol)
On a donc fait un autre salon là bas, c’était 3 fois plus busy qu’à Toronto. Petite promenade dans Time Square obligatoire (rrrrr j’étais seule, personne pour me prendre en photo!), et achat de T-shirts « I heart N.Y ». Laurène nous a emmené au Hudsun Hotel : DAMN. C’est sans doute l’endroit le plus trendy où je suis allée!
Ah New York… c’est comme si tous les gens les plus cool/mieux fringués/ beaux se sont tous donnés rendez-vous dans cette ville immense qui ne dort jamais!
Hum, avez-vous déjà essayé de catcher un cab à New York? Not easy. Après 2 ou 3 tentatives, j’en ai eu marre de m’afficher, alors j’ai pris le métro! C’est pas plus mal, et ça fait aussi partie du mythe ;).

Anyway, je suis de retour à MTL et après un petit coup de blues (mes amis et ma famille me manquent trop!), me revoilà en scène avec des projets pleins la tête.

je vous ecris en direct de la bibliotheque de l'universite de concordia qui ouvre jusqu'a minuit pendant les periodes d'examen (merci a annie de m'avoir file son code!).

anyway, le weekend dernier fut interessant... vendredi soir on devait aller ds un club hiphop old school sur st laurent et puis ben c'etait ferme. so... we went to "le rouge" but hummm... old white business people only. so we went to another bar on the same street, but yeah....na. and we ended at the tokyo club: young azn ghetto/cool wannabees. but hey, at least the music was ok and we got in for free, lol. samedi: girly day. oh, je me suis achete mes vans huhu. anyway, dimanche j'ai fait mes courses, vive les no name! (man i sound so cheap).

bref tout ca pour dire que lundi je suis allee a la gym, yeah avec annie (que ferais-je sans elle?). c"etait cool, avec des bons sons kainri qui donnent la peche, lol.

mais bon tous ces efforts on ete faits pour rien puisque j'ai mange comme une grosse ces deux drniers jours :s (y'a tellement de bonnes choses ici, je dois tester!).

et la je viens de laisser annie's crew sur concordia apres avoir mange mexicain ds une bonne ambiance et contemple l'eclipse solaire (on en a fait la promotion ds la rue, haha...).

ok bye. i'm tired.

ps: mon voisin du dessus est barge... il se reveille a 4h du matin et tourne en rond! rrrrrrrrrrr.

j'entamme donc ma quatrième semaine à montréal.
je dois dire que j'ai pris mes marques, j'ai mon petit rythme!
après plusieurs virées shopping à dollarama (boutique où tous les articles sont à 1$) mon appart' ressemble enfin à quelque chose ;)
j'adore vraiment mon quartier où tout est à portée de main: grocery store, sushi, restaurants, coffee shops, eaton center (SHOPPING!)...
bref me voici donc au travail, et je me rends compte que je n'ai pas encore bcp écrit là-dessus, lol.

je suis assistante marketing à gastronomia, une boîte qui importe des produits alimentaires surgelés français. bon le secteur c'est pas trop mon délire mais humm... après plusieurs sessions de dégustation, je me suis bien intégrée au milieu! j'ai testé macarons, petits desserts en tout genre... pas mal.

mon job consiste surtout à organiser des salons (je vais aller à toronto du 2 au 4 mars pour présenter la boîte, so cool), et aussi à bosser sur la nouvelle version du site web qui sera bientôt en ligne. c'est assez intéressant même si c'est assez frustrant desfois de concocter une pub/e-mail/présentation pendant toute une matinée pour qu'au final ben... c'est le boss qui refait tout à sa sauce, normal.

anyway, i think this experience can only be positive for me and my resumé.

sinon quoi d'autre d'intéressant... ah oui hier chrisss (my only friend in town, so cool that he's here) a eu des billets pour l'avant-première de step up 2. ça va c'était cool, enfin y'a juste la scène de danse à la fin sous la pluie qui est pas mal. sinon c'est un film so cheeeeesy, argh. bref après on est partis mangés à basha, un grec libanais. ah, c'était bien gras et pas top top.

bon au programme ce weekend: annie (ma cousine adorée) m'a dit qu'on irait clubber avec ses girls et le lendemain j'irais bien me faire faire les ongles avec ma lil'cuz chérie eli ;) (bah oui ma grosse mei mei n'est pas sur place pour me faire des jolis ongles, hihi).

man...what a week. comme j'ai ouvert mon compte en banque il ya une semaine, la banque a 'gele' mon cheque... du coup, pas de thune!
les temps ont ete... durs, mdr. je me suis fait du mii tous les jours, jusqu'a ma paye vendredi ou c'etait la fete car j'ai pu me payer un bon sandwich avec de la viande! haha.

premier bilan

je suis arrivee il y a deux semaines.
ce qui me surprend le plus, c'est cette impression d'etre dans une amerique traduite en francais.
tout y est: les 4x4, les fast-foods & coffee shops, les bus scolaires jaunes...
on sent quand meme une difference, l'esprit est plus "europeen". j'aime le fait qu'on jongle sans arret entre le francais et l'anglais, moi qui mixe souvent les 2! ici ce n'est pas surprenant de commencer une phrase en francais et de finir par un "you know what i mean?" - j'adore.
oh, et le shopping! la rue ste catherine est pleine de magasins tous aussi attirants les uns que les autres. il y a plein de petites boutiques vintage a mont-royal, pas mal du tout. ici, pas la peine de fouiner pour trouver des belles fringues originales ou stylisees, par exemple on trouve des nike blazers partout!
oh, and the food... ici on ne peut surement pas mourir de faim! des restos a tous les coins de rue et plus de subways que de mcdos...
j'ai vraiment l'impression d'etre dans une ville jeune et dynamique. quand je sors du metro bonaventure, mp3 dans les oreilles, avec le soleil qui illumine les gratte-ciels enneiges... je ressens une sensation de bien etre et de confiance. ah ca oui, je sens que je vais me plaire ici.
je suis chez ma famille depuis mon arrivee, j'ai deux cousines super droles, des vraies folles comme moi. mais des demain jemmenage dans mon propre appart' dans le mcgill ghetto. c'est un quartier au coeur de la ville, proche de la grande universite mcgill et des centres de shopping! aie... c'est ma carte qui va chauffer...
